Solidifying Your Faith
From IKTWiki
This is a true story from a White era cultivator. The person wishes to stay anonymous.
She is the oldest sibling and in her mid 20’s she managed over 500 workers. She noticed a group of 50 to 60 workers constantly gathered together after work for a meeting. She became curious and asked them where they went after work and no one told her. (Very brief history: I-Kuan Tao at Taiwan back in the days had to be secretive or else it’s jail time. The government didn’t understand what I-Kuan Tao was). One day, a worker approached her and asked if she wanted to receive Tao? She did. At the time of receiving the Tao she had questions after questions. Her faith was not rooted yet; furthermore, they encouraged her to be a vegetarian. She thought that they were crazy to even suggest the idea. She didn’t comply.
An unfortunate event occurred while she and her dad went on a trip. The housing complex was of two stories tall with a traditional design. As her mom walked up the stairs, carrying hot ash for heating purposes, one of the wood floors came loose and she slipped and fell. The hot ash burned her body as she tumbled to first floor. She passed away at age 49. Relatives arrived to prepare for the funeral. The body lay beside a coffin, awaiting for them to arrive home from the trip. Two days after the incident, they arrived home to be welcomed by a funeral.
The mood was gloomy. She wanted her mom to live. A Tao member living next door had a temple and suggested to her, “Why don’t you pray to our Holy Mother?” She kneeled and burned a large incent. She said in a broken voice, “I will give my 10 years of life expectancy to my mom. Please let her live for 10 more years.” The Tao member further suggested that she, starting from today, be a vegetarian. She complied. After she pleaded, they poured the holy water to a small cup.
She dampened cotton with the holy water and moisten her mom’s lips. She constantly recited the Wordless Sutra in her heart (her mom received Tao also) to her mom. After 30 minutes later, everyone heard a weak and faint “ahhhh” sound as if taking a deep breath. Everyone present was stunned and surprised by the awaking. They quickly rushed her mom to the hospital. Everyone was overjoyed.
(Her mom was angry and upset at the daughter because she had to walk another 10 years of joy, sorrow, sadness, and happiness when she was with our holy mother already. Joking :-P)
From that day on, her faith towards cultivation of Tao was solidified. How could you explain a person that died and came back to life? Her mom passed away at exactly 59 years of age.
