Zu Xi quoted Cheng Zi (程子): “Not deviating is the Center. Not changing is Continuous. Those who practice the Center will be righteous and can be manifested by the unchanging principle of action”. This statement contained the value of Confucianism and had been passed on for generations. Tzu Su (子思) became dreadful of time; therefore, he wrote the Middle Path and passed it on to Mencius; (孟子). This book started off with the principle of the universe (Tao), then how it applied to all, and finally returned to the principle (Tao). This principle (Tao) interestingly is everywhere (from the big universe to a drop of water) and one should study it. Those who studied it would discover a joyful journey for a lifetime.
