Golden Gluten Sticks with Colorful Peppers

A main dish that you will want to have all the time.

Serves 3-4


Ingredients: green, red & yellow bell peppers, wheat gluten sticks, ginger, black wood ears, cilantro, and cashews.

Sauce: salt, vegetarian oyster/soy sauce, sesame oil, white/black pepper powder, cornstarch, and mirin.

Steps:

[1] Prepare some cooked cashews (either bake them in a 350F oven or deep fry them in an oil frying pan). Slice the ginger thinly. Soak black wood ears in water until softened and tear them into small pieces. Wash all bell peppers, remove the core and seeds, and cut them into 1/2 in dice.

[2] Tear wheat gluten sticks into small round pieces. Put them into a bowl and add in small portion amount of vegetarian oyster/soy sauce, sesame oil, white/black pepper powder, cornstarch, and mirin. Soak them for couple minutes, then cook and deep fry in a frying pan for a while and set aside.

[3] Heat sesame oil in another large frying pan. Add in ginger slices, wood ears, and diced bell peppers. Cook for one minute. Then, add in precooked wheat gluten sticks from [2] and cook over at a high/medium heat, stirring frequently, for couple minutes. Finally, add in the remaining vegetarian oyster/soy sauce, sesame oil, and mirin, during the last minute.

[4] Transfer to a serving plate and serve with cooked cashews and cilantro on top.


金卷彩椒


材 料:青椒, 紅椒, 黃椒, 麵腸, 薑, 木耳, 香菜, 腰果

調味料:鹽, 素蠔油, 香油, 胡椒粉, 玉米粉, 米霖

作 法:

[1] 腰果用小火炸過或烤過;薑切片備用, 木耳泡軟, 撕小片, 三色彩椒去籽切小塊。

[2] 麵腸用手撕成圈塊狀, 加入少許素蠔油, 香油, 胡椒粉, 玉米粉, 醃漬入味, 之後撈油, 炸過備用。

[4] 起油鍋,放入薑片爆香, 加入木耳, 彩椒, 麵腸, 翻炒,再加入素蠔油, 香油, 米霖, 調味。

[5] 起鍋後撒上腰果, 香菜, 即可。
