Fortune Five - Cabbage and Bean Curd Puffs

A Fortune Five Main Dish, combining five different colors of vegetables on top of bean curd puffs.

Serves 2-4
Ingredients: 4-5 fresh Tofu Skin, 1 small size of cabbage, 1-2 carrots, 5-10 sticks of baby sweet corns, 20-30 fresh baby soybeans, and 5-10 black mushrooms.
Sauce: salt (1tsp), soy sauce (1tbsp), cornstarch (1 tbsp), sesame oil (1 tbsp), brown sugar (1tsp), black pepper (1tsp), and crushed red pepper (or any hot peppers).
Steps:
[1] Dice fried bean curd (tofu skin), peel carrot and slice into thin pieces, soak black mushrooms in warm water and remove stems. Cut baby sweet corns into small pieces, and peel and remove baby soybeans out from the pod.
[2] Pour sliced cabbage leaves into boiling water and cook for 2 minutes. Drain well and save for later usage.
[3] Pan-fry black mushrooms and bean curds with oil for 2-3 minutes or until the color turns brown.
[4] Add in the rest of vegetables including baby soybeans, sliced carrots and baby sweet corns. Stirring gently.
[5] Pour in some water and add in the sauce, which is mixed with soy sauce, salt, cornstarch, brown sugar, peppers, sesame oil, and crushed red peppers.
[6] Cook the puffs at medium heat for 5-8 minutes with the cover closed.
[7] Open the cover and continue to cook and wait until bean curd and cabbage have nearly absorbed the sauce. Serve the dish with rice and any additional green vegetables on top.
