第十一章: 素隱行怪

子曰：「素隱行怪，後世有述焉，吾弗為之矣。君子遵道而行，半塗而廢，吾弗能已矣。君子依乎中庸，遁世不見知而不悔，唯聖者能之。」

Confucius said, “To seek out methods and practice wonders, in order to be mentioned, this I will not do. A virtuous person follows the Path of Tao, yet abandons it during the halfway mark, this I cannot comply. The virtuous person acts accordingly to the Mean and even though unknown by the society and brush-off by the world, the virtuous has no regret. Only the sage is able for this.”
