Joy of Becoming a Vegetarian

  • With the mercy of Lau Mu, one of our lovely Tao member made a commiment to herself, at around 11:50 pm last night, becoming a vegetarian.
  • Ji became a Tao member about 12 months ago and has since been regularly attending Tao lectures and activies offerred by the I-Kuan Tao Foundation of America. After the 1-day Tao Seminar, Ji still said to herself "I know I am on the path to become a vegetarian, but I don't think I am ready yet..."
  • Couple hours later... with the mercy of God, benevolence of all Buddhas, and encouragements of all Tao relatives, Ji grasped the "Power of Now" and gave herself a chance to live in and experience with a whole "New Life".
  • Here is a touching story with real e-mail communications expressing the Joy of Becoming a Vegetarian.

Hi Ji,

Your sharing is very touched! Congratulations for your deep commitment to move forward with a very significant step on your way of cultivation! Your compassion has lead you to this way. Taking a vegetarian vow doesn't only mean of changing a diet on dinning table, it possess an incredible self-discipline, wisdom, and compassion.

I think all of your Tao family members who loves and cares you will be very happy to hear about this. The next is to pick a time for your Vegetarian Vow Ceremony.

Be peace with all living beings!

Hi Ja:

Remember your "vow" to preach me becoming a Tao vegetarian on last Sunday's Tao workshop? Well, your mission was accomplished last night. I told you I was on the path to become a vegetarian. I knew the day would finally arrive, but I did not know it would happen earlier than I thought. The seed was planted when I became a Tao member last year, you were one of the farmers who watered the seed over the last 12 months. Last night, the seed was finally sprouted. I think timing is the key. Timing is about natural sequence of things, about noticing and waiting and taking action when the time is right. Last night, under the three master's encouragement, the three tan tzu's witnesses plus the kind-hearted po-po's inspiration, I had surrendered my doubts and fears to Lau Mu.

It will be a short period of time that I will face the temptation test. It is OK. I am ready for the challenge. Thank you for your inspiration. We are all Tao cultivators and we are all under Lau Mu's blessing. We are deeply connected to each other. I am very happy to "really" feel the love and support from this big family.

Best,

Ji
